Hypsus was a son of King Lycaon and a prince of Arcadia. He founded and ruled a city named Hypsus in Arcadia. He was later killed by Zeus when his father was punished for his crimes.

History[]

He was a prince of Arcadia, a son of Lycaon. He later founded a town named Hypsus, after himself. When Zeus punished Lycaon for his crimes, the king of the gods sent lightning bolts down killing almost every one of his sons, including Hypsus. His son Cerateus became the ruler of Hypsus.
