Sarpedon was a demigod and a son of Poseidon.
History[]
Sarpedon was a Thracian and a son of Poseidon. The city of Sarpedonia was named after him. He was the brother to Poltys, the King of Aenus. Unlike the other two Sarpedons, this Thracian Sarpedon was not a hero, but an insolent individual who was shot to death with arrows by Heracles as the latter was sailing away from Aenus.
